Fast and Clean: connecting cleaning services with the places they cover

Fast and Clean offers window and exterior cleaning across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. We built and maintain its website. The navy and yellow design carries through the service pages and an interactive coverage section.

I want to look closely at that coverage section because it does a practical job. A visitor can choose a place from the list and see the page respond, with a local quote route beside the map.

Let the visitor find their area

The coverage section lists places including Derby, Nottingham, Mansfield and Long Eaton. It pairs those buttons with a labelled map, so somebody can use the place name they recognise.

In the Derby view below, the selected location has a yellow marker and a matching quote link. The text beside it names the area and describes the available exterior-cleaning services.

I like using an interactive element for a decision the customer is already trying to make. Here, that decision is whether the business works in their area. The labels give them a starting point before they touch the map.

Keep the next step connected to the selection

Selecting Nottingham changes the highlighted place and the accompanying quote link to Nottingham. The second screenshot shows that selected state on the public site.

The area name carries from the button into the contact route. That makes the relationship between the control and its result visible to the visitor.

A map still needs the place labels and a clear contact option. Somebody who does not recognise the map outline should be able to use the list. Someone whose location is missing has a phone route to ask about coverage.

Give each cleaning service enough explanation

The homepage gives window cleaning and gutter cleaning separate cards, alongside pressure washing and other exterior work. Each has a route to more detail.

That lets the visitor start with the job they have in mind. Cleaning a conservatory roof and pressure washing a driveway call for different information, even when the same business offers both.

The service pages and coverage section answer different parts of the enquiry. The visitor needs to understand the work as well as the places served before deciding whether to get in touch.

Make the contact routes easy to recognise

The site uses yellow for prominent actions against its navy design. The phone route is visible in the navigation, and the page gives people a quote option alongside the service information.

Those recurring choices help keep the next step recognisable as somebody explores the page. A person reading about a service can return to a contact route without having to remember where they first saw it.

This is why I enjoy putting a local service website together. The business has practical information to communicate, and we can build specific ways for somebody to find the part that matters to their own job.

Be specific about the area you serve

For your own website, bring a list of the places you regularly cover and how you handle enquiries from nearby areas. A useful coverage section needs that information before we choose whether to use a map.

We can then plan how somebody checks a location, reads about the relevant service and starts an enquiry. The shape of that journey should come from how your business takes on work.
