SSL certificates set up and renewed before they expire

We install, renew and troubleshoot certificates, and fix the warnings that put visitors off.

SSL Certificates: where you are, the work, and where it gets you.

In plain English.

An SSL certificate is what puts the padlock in the browser bar and lets your site load over HTTPS. Without one, Chrome and Safari show a Not Secure warning, contact forms look risky and payment providers will refuse to work. When a certificate quietly expires, the whole site can show a full-page error.

Most sites only need a free Let's Encrypt certificate, renewed automatically before it runs out. Some businesses want an organisation-validated certificate, a wildcard for many subdomains, or a certificate on a mail server or internal tool. We set up whichever fits, fix mixed content, add HTTPS redirects and switch on HSTS, the header that tells browsers to always use HTTPS.

Where a paid certificate is needed, the certificate fee is passed through at cost or you buy it directly from the issuer. Our time is priced per job and agreed before we start. If we already host your website, SSL on that site is included in the hosting.

It suits you if.

  • Your site shows a Not Secure warning
  • Your certificate expired and the site now shows an error
  • You see mixed content warnings after moving to HTTPS
  • You need a wildcard or organisation-validated certificate
  • You have several subdomains and lose track of renewals

What we do.

Automatic renewal

Let's Encrypt certificates are issued with an ACME client that renews them automatically, and a failed renewal raises an alert to us.

Mixed content fixed

We find images, scripts and fonts still loaded over HTTP and update them, so the padlock appears on every page.

Redirects and HSTS

All HTTP and www variations redirect to one HTTPS address, and HSTS is switched on once everything is confirmed working.

Paid certificates handled

For OV or wildcard certificates we generate the signing request, handle validation with the issuer and install the full chain correctly.

Beyond the website

Certificates on mail servers, control panels, APIs and internal tools are tracked too, so none of them catch you out.

How it runs.

  1. 01

    Check what you have

We scan your domains and subdomains to see which certificates exist, who issued them and when they expire.

  2. 02

    Agree the fix

We explain what is needed and agree the price, including any certificate fees, before starting.

  3. 03

    Install and test

Certificates are installed, redirects added and pages checked in several browsers for warnings.

  4. 04

    Keep watch

Expiry dates are monitored, so a failed renewal sends an alert to us and gets fixed.

Questions people ask.

Do I need to pay for an SSL certificate?

Usually not. Free Let's Encrypt certificates give the same encryption and padlock as paid ones. A paid certificate makes sense if a customer contract, bank or tender asks for organisation validation. We will tell you which you need before you spend anything.

How much does SSL setup cost?

If we host your website, SSL on it is included. For sites hosted elsewhere, fixing or installing a certificate is priced per job and agreed before we start. Paid certificate fees go to the issuer and are passed through at cost.

Why does my site still say Not Secure after installing SSL?

This is usually mixed content, where pages still load images, scripts or fonts over plain HTTP. It can also be a missing redirect or an incomplete certificate chain. We find the cause, fix it and check every template on the site.

What do you need from me?

Access to your hosting or server, and to your DNS or domain registrar for validation. For an organisation-validated certificate we also need your company details exactly as registered at Companies House, because the issuer checks them.
