Close the gaps before someone finds them
We harden your website against the automated attacks that hit small business sites every day.
In plain English.
Most website attacks are not aimed at you personally. Bots scan the web constantly looking for outdated plugins, weak admin passwords and exposed login pages. If your site has a known weakness, it will be found eventually, whatever size your business is.
Our security work starts with a review of how your site is set up: who has admin access, which software is out of date, whether passwords are reused, and what the server exposes to the outside world. We then fix the gaps in order of risk, starting with the ones attackers try first.
Typical measures include putting the site behind the Cloudflare firewall, adding two-factor authentication to every admin account, limiting login attempts and setting security headers such as HSTS and Content-Security-Policy. We also set up monitoring so changes to core files are flagged.
It suits you if.
- Several people share one admin login to your website
- Your site takes payments or stores customer details
- You have been hacked before and want to avoid a repeat
- Security scanners show missing headers or old software
- A customer or insurer has asked how your site is protected
What we do.
Access review
Every admin account is checked. Shared logins are split into named users, and each person gets only the access they need.
Two-factor authentication
An app-based code on each admin login stops most password-guessing attacks, even when a password has leaked elsewhere.
Web application firewall
Cloudflare or a server-level firewall filters malicious requests and bad bots before they reach your site.
Security headers and SSL
HSTS forces encrypted connections, and headers such as X-Frame-Options and Content-Security-Policy reduce common browser-based attacks.
File change monitoring
Unexpected changes to core files trigger an alert, so an intrusion is caught early, before Google flags the site.
How it runs.
- 01
Free 15-minute call
We talk about what your site does, what data it holds and any past incidents, then agree a price.
- 02
Review
We scan the site, check user accounts, plugin versions and hosting settings, and list risks in order of priority.
- 03
Harden
Fixes go in carefully and are tested, so security changes do not block real customers or your own team.
- 04
Monitor
Monitoring stays in place, and we can review security as part of a monthly care plan if you want ongoing cover.
Questions people ask.
Can you guarantee my site will never be hacked?
No honest provider can. What we can do is remove the easy targets that most attacks rely on and make sure that if something does happen, it is spotted quickly and a clean backup is ready.
How much does website security work cost?
A one-off hardening job is priced after the free call, based on the platform and what we find. Ongoing monitoring and updates can be added to a monthly care plan, with the fee agreed up front.
Will two-factor logins make life harder for my team?
It adds a few seconds at login. Each person uses an authenticator app on their phone. We set it up with everyone and keep backup codes safe, so nobody gets locked out.
Do I need Cloudflare?
Not always, but it is a strong option for many small sites. The free plan includes useful protection, and paid plans add more firewall rules. Any Cloudflare fees are yours and paid directly to them.
