Cyber Essentials is the UK government-backed scheme that shows your business has basic security controls in place. Many public sector contracts and larger customers now ask for it, and some cyber insurers look for it too. Certification is carried out by accredited bodies licensed through IASME.
The scheme covers five areas: firewalls, secure configuration, user access control, malware protection and security update management. The questionnaire asks detailed questions about every device that can reach the internet, including laptops, phones, servers and cloud services. Gaps are easy to miss.
We do the preparation. We check each area against the current requirements, fix what falls short and help you gather the answers for the self-assessment. When you are ready, we point you to an accredited certification body to carry out the assessment. We are not a certification body ourselves.

Questions people ask.
Do you issue the certificate?
No. Certificates are issued by accredited certification bodies licensed through IASME. We get your business ready and help with the questionnaire, then you apply to the body of your choice. Their assessment fee is paid directly to them.
How long does it take to get ready?
For a small, tidy setup it can be a matter of days. If laptops need replacing because they cannot run a supported operating system, or phones need managing, it takes longer. The gap assessment tells you how much work is involved.
How much does readiness work cost?
We give a fixed price after the free call, based on the number of people and devices. Any hardware or software you need to replace, and the certification body's fee, are separate costs that are yours.
What about Cyber Essentials Plus?
Plus uses the same controls but adds a hands-on technical audit by the certification body. Getting the basic level right is the first step. Once you hold it, we can help you prepare for the Plus audit too.
