Cyber security that fits a small business
We put the basics in place that stop most attacks, and help you plan for the ones that get through.
In plain English.
Small businesses are attacked because they are easier targets, not because they are special. Criminals buy stolen passwords in bulk, send convincing fake invoices and look for laptops that have missed months of updates. The National Cyber Security Centre says a handful of basic controls stop most of these attacks.
We start by finding out where you stand. Who has admin rights, which devices are unpatched, whether MFA is on everywhere, where your data lives and if your backups would survive an attack. You get a short list of risks in order of importance.
Then we work through it with you. That means switching on MFA, setting up automatic updates, installing endpoint protection such as Microsoft Defender for Business, adopting a password manager and writing a one-page plan for what to do if something goes wrong.
It suits you if.
- You have never had anyone look at your security
- Staff use the same password for several work accounts
- A customer or insurer is asking about your security controls
- You handle personal or financial data
- You want to work towards Cyber Essentials
What we do.
Security review
A plain-English assessment of devices, accounts, email, Wi-Fi and backups, with risks ranked by how likely and how harmful they are.
MFA everywhere
Multi-factor authentication on email, accounting, banking portals and any cloud tool that holds business data.
Patching and device protection
Automatic updates for operating systems and apps, plus endpoint protection that we check is running and reporting.
Password manager rollout
A business password manager such as Bitwarden or 1Password, so every account gets a unique password that staff do not need to remember.
Incident plan
A one-page plan setting out who to call, what to switch off and how to report a breach to the ICO or Action Fraud.
How it runs.

- 02
Review
We check devices, accounts and settings, then talk you through the findings in plain terms.
- 03
Put the basics in
We fix the highest risks first and agree a price for each stage before we start it.

Keep it current
Security drifts as people and tools change. We can review it regularly as part of ongoing support.
Questions people ask.
We are only a small team. Are we really at risk?
Yes. Most attacks are automated and do not care about business size. Fake invoice emails and stolen passwords hit sole traders as often as larger firms. The good news is that the basic controls are affordable and well within reach.
How much does cyber security support cost?
The initial review is a fixed price agreed after the free call. Fixes are priced in stages, and ongoing monitoring is a monthly fee agreed up front. Software licences such as Defender or a password manager are passed through at cost.
Will this slow my staff down?
A little at first. MFA adds a tap on a phone, and a password manager takes a week or so to get used to. After that, most people find it quicker than typing passwords from memory.
What happens if we are attacked anyway?
Your incident plan tells you the first steps. We help contain the problem, restore from backups and work out what was affected. If personal data was exposed, we help you gather the facts for any report to the ICO.
