Proper hosting for Joomla, Drupal and Moodle
Each CMS has its own needs, and we set the server up to match yours.
In plain English.
Plenty of sites run on something other than WordPress. Joomla, Drupal, Craft CMS, Concrete CMS, Moodle and MediaWiki each have their own lists of PHP extensions, cron tasks and file permission rules. Get those wrong and you see slow pages, broken uploads or a scheduler that has quietly stopped.
We host each platform with the setup its documentation asks for. Drupal sites get Composer and Drush, Moodle gets its cron and a data directory outside the web root, and MediaWiki gets the caching it needs to stay quick as the number of pages grows.
We also help teams leaving website builders, or leaving Umbraco (a .NET CMS), who want an open-source PHP platform they control. Pricing is agreed after a free call, once we know the platform, the size of the site and how many people log in to it.
It suits you if.
- Your site runs on Joomla, Drupal, Craft or Concrete CMS
- You run a Moodle learning site or a MediaWiki knowledge base
- Your current host only really supports WordPress
- Scheduled tasks or emails from your CMS have stopped working
- You want to leave a website builder and own your platform
What we do.
Platform-specific setup
PHP extensions, memory limits and upload sizes are set to what your CMS needs instead of a generic default.
Working cron
Drupal cron, Moodle's scheduled tasks and Joomla's task scheduler run as server cron jobs and are checked after launch.
Command-line tools
Composer, Drush and Craft's console commands are available, so updates are done the way each project recommends.
Version updates
We apply core and extension updates after a backup, and plan the bigger jumps, such as Joomla 3 to 5 or Drupal 7 to 10, as separate projects.
Private files kept private
Uploads and private files sit outside the public web folder where the platform recommends it, so they cannot be reached by guessing a URL.
How it runs.
- 01
Platform check
On a free call we confirm the CMS, version, extensions and any custom code, then agree the monthly price.
- 02
Match the setup
We build the hosting to suit the platform and copy the site, data folders and database across.
- 03
Test the moving parts
Logins, uploads, search, scheduled tasks and outgoing email are checked before the DNS switch.
- 04
Keep it current
We apply updates, watch the scheduled jobs and help you plan major version upgrades.
Questions people ask.
Which CMS platforms do you host?
Joomla, Drupal, Craft CMS, Concrete CMS, Moodle and MediaWiki most often, plus other PHP-based systems. If your platform is unusual, tell us on the call and we will check its requirements before agreeing anything.
Can you upgrade my Drupal 7 or Joomla 3 site?
Yes, as a separate project. Major version jumps often need content migration and theme work rather than a simple update. We look at the site, explain the options and give you a fixed quote before any work starts.
How much does CMS hosting cost?
It is priced after a free call. A small Joomla brochure site costs less to host than a Moodle site with hundreds of learners. The monthly fee is agreed before you move, and domain costs are paid directly or passed through at cost.
Will my users need to reset their passwords?
No. We move the database as it is, so user accounts and passwords carry across untouched. The only exception is if you are also changing platform at the same time, which we would plan with you well in advance.
