Website migrations that keep your traffic and data
Platform, host and domain moves planned URL by URL, with redirects, data checks and a rollback plan.
In plain English.
Moving a website to a new platform, a new host or a new domain is one of the riskiest things you can do to your search traffic. Pages get new addresses, content goes missing, forms stop sending and Google is left following dead links. Most of that risk comes from rushing the planning stage.
We crawl the old site, export every URL with its traffic from Search Console and GA4, and build a redirect map before the new site exists. Content, images, users and orders are moved with scripts and checked against the original. On launch day we switch DNS, test redirects in bulk and keep the old site ready as a fallback until the new one is proven.
It suits you if.
- You are moving from Wix, Squarespace or an old CMS
- Your host is closing or you need better hosting
- You are rebranding to a new domain name
- You are merging two websites into one
- A previous migration lost traffic and needs repairing
What we do.
URL inventory
Every indexed URL, backlink target and top landing page is listed before anything moves.
Redirect map
One-to-one 301 redirects to the closest matching page, tested in bulk after launch.
Data migration
Pages, posts, media, users, products and orders moved by script, with spot checks against the source.
Low-risk cutover
DNS TTLs lowered in advance, a launch checklist and a rollback plan in case something fails.
Post-launch monitoring
Search Console watched for crawl errors and 404s in the weeks after the move.
How it runs.
- 01
Free call
We discuss what is moving, where it is going and any deadlines.
- 02
Inventory and plan
We crawl the old site, map URLs and data, and agree a fixed price.
- 03
Migrate and test
Content and data are moved to the new platform and checked on staging.
- 04
Cut over and monitor
We switch over at a quiet time and keep watching Search Console afterwards.
Questions people ask.
How much does a website migration cost?
It depends on the number of URLs, the data being moved and whether a redesign is included. We give a fixed price once we have crawled the old site. If you are changing host too, hosting with us starts from £9.95 a month.
Will I lose rankings when I migrate?
Some movement is normal for a few weeks while Google processes the change. Careful redirects and matching content keep the risk low. Rankings cannot be promised, but we follow the steps that protect them and monitor closely.
Will my site be offline during the move?
Usually not. The new site is built and tested in parallel, then DNS is switched. Visitors see either the old or the new site during the changeover, never an error page. Email is checked separately so it keeps flowing.
Can you fix a migration someone else did?
Yes. We compare old URLs from web archives, Search Console and backlink data with the new site, find the missing redirects and lost content, and put them back. Recovery can take a few weeks once the fixes are live.
