WordPress hosting that keeps plugins and PHP current
A server tuned for WordPress, plus someone who checks the updates before they break your site.
In plain English.
WordPress runs well when the server matches it. That means a current PHP version, enough memory for your theme and plugins, and object caching so pages are not rebuilt from the database on every visit. Generic hosting often ships an old PHP version and leaves you to find out why the admin area crawls.
We host WordPress sites on PHP 8.2 or 8.3 where the site supports it, with server-side page caching, Redis object caching where it helps, and WP-CLI for safe bulk updates. Core, theme and plugin updates are tested and applied, with a backup taken first so any update that misbehaves can be reversed quickly.
Plans start at £9.95 a month. If your site was built by someone else, we check it over before moving it and tell you plainly about any outdated plugins, abandoned page builders or nulled themes we find, so you know exactly what you are inheriting before it goes live with us.
It suits you if.
- Your WordPress dashboard is slow to load
- You keep putting off plugin updates in case something breaks
- Your host still runs an old PHP version
- You want a staging copy to try changes before they go live
- You run a membership or booking plugin and need it stable
What we do.
Current PHP
We run the newest PHP version your theme and plugins support, and move you up when they are ready, after testing on a copy.
Caching set up properly
Page caching and object caching are configured for your site, with logged-in users and basket pages excluded so nobody sees stale content.
Tested updates
Core, plugin and theme updates go on with a backup taken first. If an update throws an error, we roll it back and look into why.
Staging copy
A staging copy of your site lets you try a new plugin or design change without touching the version your customers see.
Security basics
Login attempt limits, file permission checks and malware scanning close off the common ways WordPress sites get hacked.
How it runs.
- 01
Free call and site check
On a 15-minute call we look at your theme, plugins and current host, then confirm the monthly price.
- 02
Move and tune
We migrate the site, set the PHP version, switch on caching and test pages, forms and the admin area.
- 03
Go live
DNS is switched once you have checked the site on a temporary address, with the old host left running as a fallback.
- 04
Ongoing care
Updates, backups and security checks run on a schedule, and you get in touch whenever something needs changing.
Questions people ask.
Is WordPress hosting more expensive than normal hosting?
No. WordPress hosting starts at the same £9.95 a month. The price only goes up for heavier sites, such as large WooCommerce shops or sites with a lot of traffic, and we agree any figure with you before the move.
Will you update my plugins for me?
Yes. We take a backup, apply core, plugin and theme updates, then check the key pages. Premium plugins need a valid licence to receive updates, and that licence stays in your name. If a plugin has been abandoned by its author, we tell you and suggest a replacement.
My site was built by another agency. Can you still host it?
Yes. We check it over before the move, looking at the theme, plugins and PHP compatibility. If we find problems, such as an old page builder or nulled plugins, we explain them in plain English and quote any fixes separately.
What if I want to leave?
We export the WordPress files and database for you and help your new host import them. The content, the media library and the domain all belong to you, and nothing is held back when you go.
