WordPress Support: where you are, the work, and where it gets you.

In plain English.

WordPress powers a large share of small business websites, and most of the trouble comes from what has been bolted on over the years. Thirty plugins, two page builders and a theme nobody has updated since it was bought can turn a simple text change into an afternoon of frustration.

We work inside WordPress every week, including Gutenberg blocks, Elementor, Divi, Advanced Custom Fields and WooCommerce. We use tools such as Query Monitor, Site Health and WP-CLI to find out why the dashboard is slow, why a plugin clashes with another, or why an update keeps failing.

You can use us for a single fix or on an ongoing basis. Either way, we work on a staging copy where we can, explain what we changed and leave the site tidier than we found it, with unused plugins removed and settings documented.

It suits you if.

  • An update has broken a page and you are scared to try another
  • Your WordPress dashboard is slow or keeps timing out
  • You have a page builder you no longer understand
  • You want a plugin customised without editing it directly
  • You need someone to handle updates every month

What we do.

Plugin conflict fixes

We isolate which plugins are fighting, check their error logs and either fix the clash or find a lighter replacement.

Page builder help

Elementor, Divi, WPBakery and the block editor all have their quirks. We fix broken layouts and can rebuild templates so they are easier for you to edit.

Custom changes done properly

Changes go in a child theme or a small custom plugin, so the next theme or plugin update does not wipe them out.

Admin speed and database clean-up

We clear old revisions, expired transients and bloated autoloaded options that slow the dashboard down.

WooCommerce support

Shipping rules, payment gateways and order emails are common sticking points. We also maintain our own WooCommerce plugins, so the code is familiar.

How it runs.

  1. 01

    Free 15-minute call

Describe the problem or the change you want. Garreth asks a few questions and tells you how we would approach it.

  2. 02

    Access and staging

We take a backup and, where your host allows, set up a staging copy to work on safely.

  3. 03

    Fix and test

We make the change, test it in more than one browser and on mobile, then push it live with your approval.

  4. 04

    Hand back or carry on

You get a summary of what changed. If you would like regular updates, we can move you onto a care plan.

Questions people ask.

Do you charge by the hour?

For a defined fix we give a fixed price after the free call. For ongoing help we agree a monthly fee. Either way you know the cost before we begin, and anything extra is agreed with you first.

Can you help if I built the site myself?

Of course. Plenty of owners build their own WordPress site and only need help when something goes wrong. We fix the problem and can show you how to avoid it next time, without taking the site away from you.

Will you replace my page builder?

Only if it makes sense. Switching builders means rebuilding pages, which costs time. Often the better answer is tidying what you have. If a rebuild would save you money over time, we explain why and give you a separate price.

What if my hosting is the problem?

Some WordPress faults come from cheap shared hosting, old PHP or tight memory limits. We will tell you if that is the case. You can stay where you are or move to our hosting, which starts from £9.95 a month.
