SMS Marketing: where you are, the work, and where it gets you.

In plain English.

Text messages tend to be read quickly, which makes SMS useful for appointment reminders, flash offers, order updates and back-in-stock alerts. That same directness means it needs care: send too often or without consent and people opt out or complain.

We set up SMS through a platform that suits you, such as Klaviyo SMS, Brevo or Twilio, with an alphanumeric sender ID showing your business name in up to 11 characters. Every marketing text includes a simple way to opt out, and we keep messages within a single 160-character segment where possible to control cost.

Under PECR, marketing texts need prior consent or a valid soft opt-in. We build consent into your checkout and sign-up forms and keep records of it. Message credits are charged by the SMS provider to you, at their published rates.

It suits you if.

  • You take bookings and want fewer no-shows
  • You run time-limited offers or events
  • You send order or delivery updates
  • Your customers ignore email but read texts
  • You want SMS working alongside your email platform

Questions people ask.

Can I text customers whose numbers I already have?

For marketing, only if they gave consent, or if the soft opt-in applies because they bought from you and were given a chance to opt out. Service messages such as appointment reminders are treated differently. We review how your numbers were collected first.

How much does SMS cost?

The provider charges per message segment, at rates you can see before sending, and that cost is yours. Our set-up and management fees are agreed up front. Keeping messages short avoids paying for two segments on every text.

How often can I send marketing texts?

Less often than email. For most businesses, a few campaign texts a month is plenty, on top of any automated reminders. We watch opt-out rates closely and slow down if they start to rise.

Can texts come from my business name?

Yes, using an alphanumeric sender ID of up to 11 characters. Customers cannot reply to those, so for two-way conversations we use a dedicated number instead and route replies to your inbox or CRM.
