Google penalty recovery that fixes the cause first

If Google has issued a manual action against your site, we find the cause, clean it up and write the reconsideration request.

Google Penalty Recovery: where you are, the work, and where it gets you.

In plain English.

A manual action is a penalty applied by a reviewer at Google after checking your site against its spam policies. It appears in the Manual actions report in Search Console, with a reason such as unnatural links, thin content, user-generated spam or site reputation abuse. Affected pages, or the whole site, can drop or disappear from results.

Recovery means fixing the problem properly, then asking Google to review the site again. For link penalties that involves auditing your backlinks, asking site owners to remove the worst, and disavowing what cannot be removed. For content penalties it means removing or rewriting the pages at fault.

The reconsideration request matters. Google wants to see what went wrong, what you did about it and evidence of the work. We write it plainly and include the documentation. If the first request is rejected, we read the response, do more work and try again.

It suits you if.

  • Search Console shows a manual action on your site
  • A previous SEO agency bought links or ran a link scheme
  • Your site was hacked and filled with spam pages
  • Spam in comments or forum posts went unchecked for months
  • A reconsideration request has already been rejected

What we do.

Manual action diagnosis

We read the exact reason and examples Google gives and match them to what is on your site or in your link profile.

Backlink audit

Links gathered from Search Console and third-party tools, reviewed by hand and sorted into keep, remove and disavow.

Removal outreach

Polite requests to site owners to take down paid or spammy links, with every contact logged.

Disavow file

A carefully built disavow file covering only links that need it, uploaded through Search Console.

Content clean-up

Thin, copied or spam pages removed, rewritten or noindexed, depending on the action type.

Reconsideration request

A clear, honest request with evidence, written and submitted for you.

How it runs.

  1. 01

    Read the notice

We start with the exact wording of the manual action and the example URLs Google provides.

  2. 02

    Clean up properly

Links, content or spam are dealt with thoroughly, since a partial clean-up is usually rejected.

  3. 03

    Request review

A reconsideration request explains the cause, the work done and how it will not happen again.

  4. 04

    Respond and recover

If Google rejects the request, we act on its reply and resubmit. Once lifted, we monitor recovery.

Questions people ask.

How do I know if I have a penalty?

Check the Manual actions report in Search Console. If it says no issues detected, you do not have a manual penalty. A drop without a manual action is more likely a core update, a technical fault or competition, which our traffic drop analysis covers.

How long does recovery take?

The clean-up can take a few weeks, depending on the size of the problem. Google then reviews the request, which can take anything from days to several weeks. We keep you updated at each stage so you know what is happening.

Will I get my old rankings back?

Not always. If rankings were propped up by paid links, removing them takes that boost away too. Lifting the action removes the penalty, and after that recovery depends on how good the site is on its own merits. We are clear about that from the start.

What does penalty recovery cost?

A fixed project price based on the type of action and the size of the link profile or site. Any resubmissions needed are included in the price we agree after the free call, so a rejection does not mean a new bill.
