Hosting ready for the day everyone visits at once

Caching, CDNs and load testing for sites that cannot afford to fall over on launch day.

High-Traffic Hosting: where you are, the work, and where it gets you.

In plain English.

Traffic rarely grows evenly. A product drop, a TV mention, a ticket release or a match day can bring a flood of visitors in a single hour. Shared hosting is not built for that, and the site tends to fail at exactly the moment it matters most.

We start by reducing the work each visit costs. That means full-page caching, a CDN such as Cloudflare in front, image optimisation and a database that is tuned and properly indexed. Only then do we size the servers, adding load balancing or extra application servers where the traffic needs them.

Before a big event, we load test the site with tools such as k6 to find the breaking point and fix it in advance. Servers and CDN plans for high-traffic sites are quoted after a free call, and any third-party costs are passed through at cost.

It suits you if.

  • Your site slows or crashes during busy events
  • You have a launch, sale or ticket release coming
  • You have been featured in the press and want to be ready next time
  • Your host keeps warning you about resource limits
  • You want to know your breaking point before customers find it

What we do.

Caching first

Full-page caching and object caching mean most visitors are served without touching PHP or the database at all.

CDN in front

Cloudflare or another CDN serves images, scripts and cached pages, taking a large share of the load off your server.

Load testing

We simulate realistic visitor patterns with k6 or similar tools and fix the slow pages that give out first.

Scaling plan

Where needed, we split the database onto its own server, add application servers behind a load balancer, or scale cloud resources for the event.

Event cover

For a planned launch we agree who is watching and when, and have rollback steps written and ready.

How it runs.

  1. 01

    Understand the peak

We ask what triggers your busy periods, how big they get and what has gone wrong before.

  2. 02

Cut the cost of each visit

Caching, CDN rules and database fixes are put in place on the current setup first.

  3. 03

    Test and size

We load test, find the limits and choose the server or cloud setup that clears them with room to spare.

  4. 04

    Watch the big day

During launches and sales we monitor closely and adjust settings if the traffic surprises us.

Questions people ask.

How much does high-traffic hosting cost?

It depends on the size of your peaks and how much of the site can be cached. Some sites need only better caching and a CDN, others need several servers. We quote after a free call and agree all costs, including any CDN or cloud fees, before work starts.

Can you guarantee my site will not go down?

No honest host can guarantee that. What we do is find your limits through load testing, fix the weak points and size the setup with headroom. We also monitor during big events so problems are spotted and dealt with quickly.

How far ahead should I contact you before a big event?

As early as you can. A few weeks gives time to test, fix slow pages and adjust the hosting without rushing. If the event is days away, call anyway, because caching and CDN changes can often be made quickly.

Do I have to move hosts?

Not always. Caching, CDN and database fixes often work on your current hosting. If it still cannot cope after those changes, we explain why in plain terms and quote for moving to a setup that can.
