Forum and Community Hosting: where you are, the work, and where it gets you.

In plain English.

Forums work the server harder than they look. Years of posts, attachments, search indexes and email notifications all lean on the database, and spam bots never stop trying to register. When a forum slows down or goes offline, members drift to Facebook groups and do not always come back.

We host phpBB, XenForo, vBulletin, Invision Community, SMF, MyBB, Discourse and Flarum. Discourse runs in its official Docker setup, XenForo can use Elasticsearch for search, and every forum gets outgoing mail set up with SPF and DKIM (the records that prove your mail is genuine) so notifications land in inboxes.

Older vBulletin and SMF boards can be moved as they are, then upgraded or converted to a current platform later. Pricing is agreed after a free call, based on member numbers, the size of your attachments folder and how much traffic the board gets.

It suits you if.

  • Your forum is slow or keeps hitting resource limits
  • Notification emails from your board go to spam
  • You are fighting a wave of spam registrations
  • Your vBulletin or SMF board needs a new home
  • You want to move from one forum platform to another

What we do.

Database tuning

MySQL or PostgreSQL settings are adjusted for large post tables, so threads and search stay quick as the archive grows.

Email that arrives

We set up SPF, DKIM and a proper sending service so registration and reply notifications reach members.

Spam controls

Cloudflare, registration questions and StopForumSpam checks cut down bot sign-ups before your moderators ever see them.

Attachments moved intact

Large attachment and avatar folders are moved complete, with storage and upload limits set to suit your board.

Platform conversions

If you want to move from vBulletin to XenForo, or phpBB to Discourse, we can run the importer and fix what it misses.

How it runs.

  1. 01

    Board review

On a free call we ask about the software, version, member count and the problems you are seeing.

  2. 02

    Migrate quietly

We copy the forum, close it briefly for the final database sync, then test logins, posting and search.

  3. 03

    Switch and check

DNS is pointed at the new server, and we confirm notification emails and private messages work.

  4. 04

    Keep it healthy

We apply forum software updates, watch the database and help moderators through spam waves.

Questions people ask.

Will members lose posts or accounts during the move?

No. We copy the full database and attachments, then close the forum briefly for a final sync so nothing posted on the old server is missed. Members log in with the same usernames and passwords afterwards.

How much does forum hosting cost?

It depends on the platform, member numbers and attachment storage. A small phpBB board costs much less to run than a large Discourse community. We agree a monthly fee after a free call, before anything moves.

Can you host Discourse?

Yes. Discourse needs Docker, a fair amount of memory and a working mail service, which shared hosting cannot provide. We arrange a suitable server, install it using the official method and keep it updated.

Do you moderate the forum for us?

No, moderation stays with you and your team. We look after the software, the server, spam protection and email, so your moderators can spend their time on the community itself.
