Consistent listings wherever local customers look you up
We clean up and build your business listings so your name, address and phone number match everywhere.
In plain English.
A citation is any online mention of your business name, address and phone number, often shortened to NAP. Google cross-checks these against your Business Profile. When directories show an old address, a former phone number or a slightly different name, it muddies the picture of where you are and whether you are still trading.
We start by finding what is already out there, including listings you never created, which directories often scrape from Companies House and old data. Then we correct the wrong ones, close duplicates and add you to the platforms that matter in the UK: Bing Places, Apple Business Connect, Yell, Thomson Local, Facebook and the trade bodies in your sector.
Citations will not lift you on their own, but inconsistent ones hold back the rest of your local SEO. Getting them right is a one-off clean-up with light upkeep afterwards, usually a check whenever you move, rebrand or change your number.
It suits you if.
- You have moved premises or changed phone number
- Your business has traded under more than one name
- You serve customers from a shop, workshop or office
- You appear in the map pack for some searches but not others
- You have never claimed your Bing or Apple listings
What we do.
Citation audit
We search by name, phone and old addresses to find every listing, including duplicates and ones created automatically from scraped data.
Core platform set-up
Bing Places and Apple Business Connect are claimed and completed. Bing feeds search and maps on Windows devices, and Apple feeds Maps, Siri and CarPlay on iPhones.
UK directory submissions
We add you to established general directories such as Yell, Thomson Local, Scoot and FreeIndex, and skip low-quality sites that add nothing.
Niche and trade listings
Trade associations, supplier dealer locators and sector directories often carry more weight than general ones. We find the ones relevant to your work.
Duplicate suppression
Duplicate listings split reviews and confuse search engines. We merge or remove them through each platform's own process.
How it runs.
- 01
Agree the master record
We confirm the exact business name, address format, phone number, hours and categories you want shown everywhere.
- 02
Find what exists
We search directories and maps for current, old and duplicate listings and record what needs fixing.
- 03
Fix and build
We correct, claim or remove existing entries, then submit new listings on the directories that fit your business.
- 04
Hand over and check
You get every login and listing URL. We re-check a sample after a few weeks, as some directories take time to update.
Questions people ask.
How much does citation building cost?
After a free call we quote a fixed price based on how many listings need fixing and how many new ones make sense. Some directories charge for premium or verified listings. Those fees are yours, and we ask before paying for anything.
How long does it take to show?
Our part usually takes a couple of weeks. The directories then update at their own pace, and some take months. Search engines pick up corrections as they re-crawl, so this is a foundation that pays back gradually.
What do I need to provide?
Your correct business details, any old addresses, numbers or trading names, and an email address the listings can be registered to. Some platforms post or call to verify, so we may need you to pass on a code.
Who owns the listings afterwards?
You do. Every listing is registered to your business email where the platform allows it, and you receive a full log of logins and URLs. If you move again, you or we can update them all from that list.
