Business Email Address: where you are, the work, and where it gets you.

In plain English.

An address like yourname@yourbusiness.co.uk tells customers you are an established business, and it stays yours if you ever change mail provider. A Gmail or Hotmail address for a trade or a shop looks temporary, and it is easy for someone else to create one that looks almost the same.

You do not always need a full mailbox. If you are a sole trader happy with Gmail, forwarding info@ to your existing inbox can be enough. The catch is sending: if you reply from Gmail using your business address without authenticated SMTP, your own DMARC record can send the reply to spam. We set up send-as properly so replies come from your business address and pass the checks.

Forwarding has its own snag. Forwarded mail can fail SPF at the receiving end because it arrives from our forwarding server, not the original sender. Forwarders that use SRS, the Sender Rewriting Scheme, avoid that. For teams, we usually recommend real mailboxes or a shared inbox so nothing gets lost in one person's Gmail.

It suits you if.

  • You trade from a Gmail, Hotmail or BT address and want something proper
  • You have just bought a domain and want email on it quickly
  • You want info@ and sales@ to reach you without another inbox
  • Your replies from a forwarded address keep landing in spam
  • You have a small team and want shared addresses handled properly

What we do.

Forwarding with SRS

Addresses on your domain forward to an existing inbox, with sender rewriting so forwarded mail still passes SPF at Gmail or Outlook.

Send as your business address

Gmail send-as or an Outlook account configured with authenticated SMTP, so outgoing mail is DKIM-signed for your domain and passes DMARC.

Aliases and shared addresses

info@, sales@ and accounts@ can deliver to one person or several, or into a shared inbox where the team can see who has replied.

Full mailboxes when you need them

When forwarding is not enough, we set up hosted mailboxes, Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, depending on what your team uses.

Signature and profile

A plain, consistent email signature with your name, role, phone number and website, which displays properly on phones.

Questions people ask.

Do I need a website to have a business email address?

No. You only need the domain name. Email and website are controlled by separate DNS records, so you can have email on your domain with no website at all, or add a website later without touching your email.

Can I keep using my Gmail app?

Yes. With forwarding and send-as, mail to your business address arrives in your existing Gmail and you can reply from the business address in the same app. If you later outgrow it, we move you to a full mailbox without changing the address.

How much does a business email address cost?

Set-up is a fixed price agreed after a free call. Forwarding often needs no extra monthly cost beyond your domain. Full mailboxes carry a monthly fee, either ours for hosted email or Google or Microsoft licences paid directly or passed on at cost.

What happens to my old address?

Keep it running for a while. We suggest setting an auto-reply or a forward from the old address, updating your website, invoices and listings, and telling regular customers. Most businesses can let the old address fade after a few months.
