WordPress development for jobs plugins cannot do
Custom themes, bespoke plugins and integrations written to WordPress coding standards.
In plain English.
Sometimes a site needs something no off-the-shelf plugin does well: a quote calculator, a stock feed from your supplier, a members area tied to your CRM, or a custom post type for listings. Rather than chaining three plugins together and hoping they agree, we write a small plugin that does the job and nothing else.
Our code follows the WordPress coding standards, uses hooks and filters instead of editing core or theme files, and lives in version control. That means it survives WordPress updates and another developer can read it. We also write WooCommerce extensions, and publish our own on our WooCommerce plugins page.
It suits you if.
- You need a feature that existing plugins do badly or not at all
- Your site relies on a plugin that has been abandoned
- Data needs to flow between WordPress and another system
- Someone edited your theme directly and updates now break it
- Your custom code needs to run on a current PHP version
What we do.
Bespoke plugins
Self-contained plugins for your feature, with a settings screen where you need control and nothing extra.
Custom post types and fields
Structured content such as properties, vehicles, courses or staff, each with its own templates and filters.
API integrations
Connections to CRMs, booking tools, accounting packages and supplier feeds using the WordPress HTTP API and scheduled tasks.
Child themes and theme repairs
Changes moved out of the parent theme into a child theme or plugin, so updates stop overwriting them.
PHP compatibility
Old custom code updated and tested on PHP 8.2 and 8.3, so your host can upgrade without the site falling over.
How it runs.
- 01
Free call
You explain the problem and we tell you whether a plugin, a small tweak or custom code is the sensible answer.
- 02
Spec and quote
We write down exactly what will be built and agree a fixed price.
- 03
Build on staging
Code is written and tested on a copy of your site, never on the live one.
- 04
Deploy and check
We put it live, watch it in real use and fix anything that turns up.
Questions people ask.
How is custom WordPress work priced?
Each job is quoted on its own once we have seen the site and agreed the spec. Small fixes and plugins get a single fixed price, and larger builds are split into stages with a price for each. Nothing starts until you agree the figure.
Will custom code break when WordPress updates?
Code that uses WordPress hooks properly is designed to survive core updates. We test against the current release before handover, and if a future update affects our code, we look at it with you.
Do I need to give you admin access?
We need admin access and ideally hosting or SFTP access, so we can make a staging copy. If you cannot share hosting details, we can work from a backup and hand you the finished plugin to install.
Who owns the code?
You do. The plugin or theme code is handed over in full with notes. You can keep using it, change developer or have it extended later without asking our permission.
