Web applications built around your daily work
Replace the spreadsheets, shared inboxes and paper forms with one tool your staff open in a browser.
In plain English.
A web application is software that runs in a browser, so nobody installs anything and it works on a laptop in the office or a phone in the van. We build them for jobs that have outgrown a spreadsheet: quoting, job tracking, stock counts, staff rotas, inspection checklists and the like.
We usually build in Laravel with a MySQL or PostgreSQL database, or in Node with TypeScript when the app needs live updates. Before you pay a deposit you get a working prototype to click through, so you can see whether it fits how your team actually works and change your mind cheaply.
Once it is live, the code is yours. We can host it for you on UK servers and look after updates, backups and the small changes that always come up in the first few months of real use by your staff.
It suits you if.
- Your team keeps several copies of the same spreadsheet and nobody knows which is right
- You retype the same details into two or three systems every day
- Off-the-shelf software makes you work around it
- Staff need the same information in the office and out on jobs
- You would rather own your software than rent seats on someone else's
What we do.
Prototype before deposit
You click through a working version of the main screens first. If it does not fit, you walk away without having paid a deposit.
Roles and permissions
Office staff, field staff, managers and customers each see only what they need, with logins handled properly and passwords hashed.
Works on any device
Responsive layouts that suit a desktop monitor and a phone held in one hand on a building site.
Reports you can export
Filter, total and export to CSV or Excel, so month-end figures come out of the system instead of being rebuilt by hand.
Connected to your other tools
Links to Xero, QuickBooks, Stripe, Microsoft 365 or your website through their APIs, so data is entered once.
How it runs.
- 01
Free 15-minute call
Tell Garreth what the tool needs to do and where the current process hurts. He will say honestly whether a custom build makes sense.
- 02
Prototype
We build the key screens with sample data so you and your team can try them and tell us what is wrong.
- 03
Build and test
Once you approve and pay the deposit, we build the full app in stages, with a test version you can use throughout.
- 04
Launch and support
We move your data across, train your staff, go live and stay on hand for the changes real use throws up.
Questions people ask.
How much does a web application cost?
App development starts from £750 for a small, focused tool. Most business systems cost more because they have more screens, users and connections. You get a fixed price after the free call and the prototype, before you commit to anything, so the number does not creep once work starts.
How long does it take to build?
A small tool with a handful of screens can be ready in a few weeks. A larger system with several user types and integrations takes longer and is usually released in stages, so your team starts using the most useful part first while the rest is built.
What do you need from me?
Someone who knows the current process well and can spare an hour or two a week to answer questions and test the prototype. Copies of the spreadsheets, forms or documents you use now are the most useful thing you can send us at the start.
Do I own the software?
Yes. Once the final invoice is paid, the code, the database and the domain are yours. We keep it in a Git repository you have access to, and if you ever want another developer to take it over, we hand everything across with notes.
