Packaging Design: where you are, the work, and where it gets you.

In plain English.

Packaging has two jobs. It has to stand out next to competitors on a shelf or in a marketplace thumbnail, and it has to carry the information the law and the retailer require. We design for both, starting with the dieline, the flat cutter template your packaging supplier provides, so panels, glue flaps and folds line up exactly when the box is made.

We place the GS1 barcode at a scannable size with its quiet zones clear, and lay out ingredients, warnings, recycling marks and batch code areas as your product needs. Artwork is supplied as layered, print-ready PDF with spot colours and any foil or varnish on separate layers, ready for your converter or label printer.

It suits you if.

  • You are launching a product and need retail-ready packaging
  • You are moving from home-printed labels to professional printing
  • You sell on Amazon or in shops and the pack must work as a thumbnail
  • You have flavours or sizes that need a consistent range system

What we do.

Built on your dieline

We work on the exact cutter template from your supplier, never a generic box shape, so nothing lands on a fold or glue flap.

Range system

A layout that flexes across variants, using colour or a band to separate flavours or sizes while the range still reads as one brand.

Barcodes and legal panels

GS1 barcodes placed at a scannable size, plus ingredient, warning and recycling panels laid out legibly.

Finishes and spot colours

Foil, embossing, spot UV and Pantone colours set up on separate layers the printer can read.

3D mock-ups

Rendered mock-ups of the finished pack for your website, listings and buyer presentations before production.

Questions people ask.

Do you make the boxes or labels?

No. We design the artwork and supply print-ready files. Production is done by your packaging supplier or label printer, or one we arrange for you. Their costs, including tooling for custom cutters, are paid by you directly or passed through at cost.

Will the packaging be legally compliant?

We lay out the required information clearly and in the right places, but the wording itself (ingredients, claims, warnings, weights) must come from you or your regulatory adviser, because it depends on your product. We flag anything that looks missing before artwork is signed off.

What do I need to get started?

The product name and range, dimensions or a sample, the dieline from your supplier if you have one, barcode numbers from GS1 UK, and all the text that must appear. If you have no packaging supplier yet, we can suggest some.

How long does packaging design take?

A single label can be ready in a couple of weeks. A full range of boxes with several variants takes longer, often four to eight weeks, mainly because of proofing and supplier checks. We set out a timeline on the call.
