Multilingual websites that serve each market properly
Language versions with proper hreflang tags, translated URLs and an editing workflow your team can manage.
In plain English.
A multilingual website shows the same business in several languages, with each version on its own URL. Done well, visitors land on the right language from search, and switching language keeps them on the same page. Done badly, Google sees duplicate content and visitors get a half-translated site.
We set up language versions in subfolders such as /fr/ and /de/, or on separate domains if you trade under local brands. Every page gets hreflang tags, which tell search engines which version to show in each country. Translation can come from your team, a professional translator or machine translation checked by a fluent speaker. Translator fees are yours, passed through at cost.
It suits you if.
- You sell to customers outside the UK
- You serve UK communities who prefer another language
- You need a Welsh language version of your site
- Your current translation plugin produces messy results

Translated URLs and metadata
Slugs, page titles, descriptions and image alt text are translated along with the body copy.
Language switcher
A switcher that keeps visitors on the matching page in the other language.
Translation workflow
WPML, Polylang or a CMS locale set-up that lets translators work page by page and flags translations that have fallen out of date.

Questions people ask.
How much does a multilingual website cost?
The build is quoted after a free call based on the number of languages and pages, with bespoke sites starting at £995. Translation is a separate cost, paid directly to your translator or passed through by us at cost.
Can I just use Google Translate?
Machine translation makes a reasonable first draft, but customers notice awkward phrasing quickly. We recommend a fluent speaker reviews every page, especially product details, legal text and anything about prices.
Should I use subfolders or separate domains?
Subfolders keep everything under one domain and are simpler to manage. Separate country domains suit businesses with distinct local brands. We recommend one based on how you trade in each market.
Can I add another language later?
Yes. The structure is set up so new languages slot in. You supply the translations, and we add the new version with its hreflang tags, menus and form messages, then check it in Search Console.
